Samurai is Toshio Eto, a Japanese superhero and a member of the Super Friends. He has several elemental powers, most notably control over wind, which he uses to transform himself into a spinning tornado. It is known that he was a history professor before the New Gods of New Genesis granted him special powers. There were several other culturally diverse heroes added to the Super Friends alongside Samurai, including Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, and El Dorado.
Samurai was created by Jeffrey Scott, first appearing in the Super Friends episode Volcano (1977).
