Al Rothstein is a super-hero with the ability to grow in size and incredible strength. The godson of the Golden Age hero the Atom, he is part of a costumed legacy. Originally he used the name Nuklon, although he later evolved to become the Atom Smasher. He has been a member of the Justice League, the Justice Society, Infinity, Inc., the Suicide Squad and the Conglomerate.
Nuklon was created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway, first appearing in All-Star Squadron #25 (1983). James Robinson, David S. Goyer and Steve Sadowski reinvented him as the Atom Smasher in JSA Secret Files and Origins #1 (1999).
