Rex Tyler is the original superhero known as Hourman. Using his talents as a research chemist he designed a drug called "Miraclo" that would grant him super-powers such as increased strength and durability for exactly one hour. He became a member of the Justice Society, the All-Star Squadron, and the Freedom Fighters. His love interest and later wife is Wendi Harris. His son Rick Tyler became the second Hourman, and his clone Matthew Tyler became the third Hourman.
Rex Tyler was created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily, first appearing in Adventure Comics #48 (1940).
