Jakeem Williams is a teenager from Keystone City. After a rough childhood, Jakeem became a self-reliant latchkey kid who grew up on the streets and adopted a tough, foul-mouthed attitude in order to survive. Eventually, he came into possession of Johnny Thunder's genie called Thunderbolt and becomes the superhero Jakeem Thunder. He was one of the many "next generation" heroes introduced in the Kingdom Come Elseworlds story, and was later brought into the mainstream universe and given a name.

Jakeem Williams was created by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, first appearing in Kingdom Come #1 (1996). He was introduced in the mainstream universe in The Flash (Volume 2) #134 (1998).
