Punchline is the Joker's new right-hand woman. She was intended to be an anti-Harley Quinn, being a silent and intimidating serial killer and the fact that the Joker actually seems to care about her. Originally, Alexis Kaye was a senior in high school until she had her first encounter with the Joker. While on a field trip to a TV studio, the Joker hijacked the studio and forced Alexis at gunpoint to act as a newsreader and deliver his message to Gotham. Eventually, she was saved by Batman, but she later developed an obsession with the Joker and quickly came to believe that his crimes served a greater purpose.
