Gil Kane (b. April 6, 1926 – d.January 31, 2000) was a Latvian-born American comic book artist, writer and editor, best known for his work at DC Comics during the Silver Age and Bronze Age. He was co-creator of the Silver Age Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and the Silver Age Atom (Ray Palmer), amongst many other enduring characters.

Professional History
He was production designer and model in Superman (1988 TV Series). In 1997, he was inducted into both the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame and the Harvey Award Jack Kirby Hall of Fame.
